CIA Interrogation Memos

Incidentally, just read a fascinating post from Mind Hacks on the (sometimes flawed) psychological methods and theory behind CIA interrogations.

Read the recently-released memos yourself on the ACLU's website.

  1. There are many scary things in there, but here is one: "It is also clear that the CIA are interested in finding out two types of information: one, intelligence from the detainees, and two, which methods are most effective in doing so." In other words, the detainees were subjects in an experiment without the requirement of informed consent. I thought experimenting on prisoners went out of style with the Nazis!
